Prime Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko stated that she hopes for a "corresponding decision that will allow the Bureau of Economic Security (BES) to resume its work" next week.
She wrote about this on social media.
Svyrydenko published the corresponding post following a meeting with Oleksandr Tsyvinskyi – the winner of the competition for the position of head of the BES.
"The selection committee made a decision, and the government received the results of additional checks. We are all interested in ensuring that the BES becomes an effective institution and has real trust — trust from businesses and the entire Ukrainian society," stated the Prime Minister.
According to Svyrydenko, she and Tsyvinskyi agreed on "how to resolve all questions and doubts in a civilized manner, and agreed with him on the polygraph examination."
"I hope that next week we will be able to make the appropriate decision that will allow the BES to resume work and will be a significant contribution to the positive reset of relations between the state and business," she added.
In turn, Tsyvinskyi noted that his conversation with the Prime Minister "was constructive and substantial."
"We agreed to act openly and clearly in order to resolve all questions and move forward," he noted.
Tsyvinskyi’s appointment was blocked allegedly due to SSU concerns related to his father’s Russian citizenship. Tsyvinskyi himself stated that he was not officially informed of anything, and the selection committee resubmitted his documents to the government.
