The U.S. Department of State made an unexpected statement regarding Ukraine

The USA aims to continue supporting Ukraine in order to achieve peace.

This was stated by the Deputy Spokesperson of the US Department of State, Mignon Houston, in an interview with Postimees.

She assured that the administration of US President Donald Trump is committed to achieving a lasting, durable, and stable peace in Ukraine and the entire region.

"We want to continue supporting Ukraine as it calls for a comprehensive, complete ceasefire that stops any attacks on civilians and critical infrastructure," Houston emphasized.

It is worth noting that the Trump administration has typically been more reserved in statements regarding Ukraine and the war initiated by Russia. After Trump came to power, statements from White House or US State Department representatives were more neutral, without open support for Ukraine. This was explained by Trump’s efforts to negotiate with Russia for peace in Ukraine.
