German diplomat Wolfgang Ischinger, who chaired the Munich Security Conference until 2022 and remains one of the most respected experts in the world on foreign policy matters, is convinced that the meeting in Alaska ended with a victory for Putin.
He stated this in a post on the social network X (Twitter).
Following the conclusion of the short final press conference of the leaders, Ischinger made a statement that the results of the meeting for the two sides are strikingly different.
"Putin got the red carpet with Trump, Trump got nothing," he briefly described the outcome of the talks.
"As expected: neither a ceasefire nor peace. No real progress. Clearly 1:0 in favor of Putin. No new sanctions, he listed the consequences of the negotiations. For Ukrainians: nothing. For Europe: deep disappointment."
