"West-2025": Russia and Belarus are preparing exercises, but there is no threat of an offensive for now

Russia and Belarus continue preparations for the so-called military exercises "Zapad-2025" on the territory of their Russian ally. However, there are currently no signs of a new Russian invasion from Belarus.

This became known from a statement by the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, during a television marathon.

According to Demchenko, the situation at the border is currently calm. As of today, there are no signs of the formation of groups near the Ukrainian border that could be considered offensive.

At the same time, the SBGS spokesperson added that during the "Zapad-2025" exercises, not only Russian troops will be transferred to Belarus. Interestingly, Belarusian troops will also be relocated to the territory of Russia.

It should be noted that according to official data, the joint military exercises of Russia and Belarus "Zapad-2025" will take place from September 12 to 16, 2025. It is expected that over 13,000 military personnel will participate in the maneuvers.

The Kremlin and Minsk claim that the exercises are purely defensive in nature and do not pose a threat. At the same time, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, warned that under the guise of these exercises, covert formation of offensive military groups could occur.
