Zelenskyy: Negotiations are possible only on the current line of contact

Zelenskyy, in his Telegram channel, once again proposed to start negotiations based on the current frontline.

«We need constructive negotiations, and this means they can start exactly where the frontline runs today. The line of contact is the most appropriate place for negotiations. Europeans support this», — the President stated.

In this way, he made it clear that he is against handing over the Donetsk region to Russia as a condition for peace (according to American media, Trump also supports this).

«Russia has still not succeeded in capturing the Donetsk region; Putin has failed to occupy it over the past 12 years. The Constitution of Ukraine does not allow us to give up territories or trade land. Since the territorial issue is of such great importance, it should be discussed exclusively by the leaders of Ukraine and Russia with the participation of three parties: Ukraine, the USA, and Russia. While Russia is not sending any signals regarding such a meeting, and if it refuses, new sanctions must be imposed», — Zelenskyy stated.
