According to law enforcement agencies, as reported by Suspilne, at least 25 men have died since February 2022 following their detention by military enlistment officers.
Law enforcement officials claim that in only two cases the deaths were caused by beatings, while in the remaining cases, the men died due to the exacerbation of chronic illnesses or committed suicide, with no violence reported against them.
The publication emphasizes that in most cases, the relatives of the deceased do not trust this version of events and believe that their loved ones were actually killed.
