Journalist and soldier Oleksandr Holyachenko killed on the front line
On September 3, former journalist of Kyiv FM radio and Nash Kyiv publication, serviceman Oleksandr Holyachenko, was killed on the front line.
This was reported on his Facebook page by the father of the fallen defender, TV presenter and military serviceman Serhiy Holyachenko.
«My dear son. Yesterday, he was killed. He died as a hero, defending the future of this country, his loved ones, and friends. I still can’t fully comprehend how to live on without him. He was a kind, decent, and talented person. The world will never be the same as it was before. At least not for me... I will always love you, my heavenly one», — wrote Serhiy Holyachenko.
Oleksandr’s close friend, journalist Iryna Hanakh, told Detector Media that he joined the military in 2025, following the example of his father, who has been defending Ukraine since 2022.
From 2016 to 2020, the journalist worked in the newsroom of Kyiv FM radio. According to Iryna Hanakh, Oleksandr stood out for his attention to detail and sense of responsibility to the audience.
«His texts and live broadcasts always shared one common trait — respect for the audience. This principle was always the foundation of his work», — the journalist shared.
Since 2020, Oleksandr conducted interviews and wrote analytical materials for the Nash Kyiv publication.
As Iryna Hanakh noted, colleagues remember Oleksandr as a journalist «who knew how to see the person behind the news».
«Oleksandr Holyachenko will remain in the memory of those who knew him personally and through his texts as an honest and dedicated journalist, as well as a person who chose the path of service. His death is a great loss for the journalistic community and for the entire country», — said Iryna.
