The head of the "Probation Center" Yanchuk collected bribes through coffee boxes

The head of the "Probation Center" Oleh Yanchuk collected bribes from subordinates through coffee boxes.

Yanchuk created a scheme for systematic bribe collection through regional and district units. Money was sent from Lviv region to Kyiv by mail, disguised as coffee packaging.

The head of the Lviv branch (Bohdan Hedz) involved five heads of district departments in the scheme. Subordinates were forced to give up part of their bonuses under the threat of reduced payments or other sanctions. In the Lviv region alone, over 75,000 UAH of illicit gains were documented over a few months. Cash identified as a bribe received by mail was seized from Yanchuk’s office.

The head of the institution and his accomplices have been notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code — extortion and receipt of illicit gains by officials, committed repeatedly and by prior conspiracy.
