The Eldorado store chain is closing: the company was unable to avoid bankruptcy

Eldorado closes stores in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Council of Shopping Centers reports that the decision to declare the limited liability company "Diesa," which owns the Eldorado chain of home appliance stores, bankrupt was made two years after the retailer’s creditors initiated this procedure. During this time, Eldorado twice attempted to approve a restructuring plan to avoid bankruptcy, but both plans were canceled by the court.

It was stated that the company is starting pre-trial restructuring and simultaneously filing a lawsuit against Russia for over 1 billion UAH in compensation for damages caused by Russia’s armed aggression. In total, according to the company, about 20 properties of the network were affected, some of which have been preserved since they are located in areas of active hostilities or near-frontline territories.
