Eastern European countries and the European Commission will discuss the possibility of creating a "drone wall" today following incidents involving drones and aircraft in NATO airspace.
This was announced by European Commission representative Thomas Regnier.
Representatives from Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria will meet online.
"Based on the outcomes of these discussions, we will determine possible further steps together with these countries and Ukraine," — Regnier noted.
It is expected that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will propose funding options for the "drone wall" at an informal meeting of EU leaders, which will take place in Copenhagen on October 1.
