Russia expanded the launch site for "Shaheds" in the Bryansk region - media

Under the city of Navlya, Bryansk region of the Russian Federation, a launch site for enemy drones of the "Shahed" type has been operating since 2025. Recently, the servicemen of the aggressor state expanded it by constructing 18 new structures.

This was reported on October 1 by an analyst from the Telegram channel Dnipro Osint, based on the latest data, including satellite photographs of the area. The author shared a diagram of the layout of garages and stationary launch installations.

"In the new SAR satellite images, prohibited from publication, we recorded 18 new structures that serve as ’garages’ for the drone, as well as two stationary launch installations," the message states.

The new structures were built a kilometer from the initial zone, where there is a road for UAV launches from vehicles, as well as three underground storage facilities for combat parts.

It should be noted that satellites using SAR technology can generate images with ultra-high detail regardless of weather conditions or time of day. SAR sensors use their own radio waves instead of sunlight, which reflect off the earth’s surface and return to the receiving antenna.

As of July 2025, this military facility was new, had three bunker-storage facilities (with a total of over 600 BCH units), as well as three garages. There were no stationary launch installations there, meaning the enemy launched drones exclusively from vehicles.
