As of 22:00 on October 8, there have been 162 combat engagements. Ukrainian defenders continue to decisively repel the enemy’s attempts to advance deeper into our territory, inflicting fire damage on them.

This was reported by the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russian invaders carried out 59 airstrikes, dropping 113 guided bombs. In addition, they deployed 1,768 kamikaze drones for attacks and conducted 3,238 shelling attacks on our troops’ positions and populated areas.

In the North-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, nine combat engagements took place. The enemy conducted nine airstrikes, dropping a total of 27 guided aerial bombs and carrying out 148 artillery shellings, including five with multiple launch rocket systems.

Today, the enemy attacked 21 times in the South-Slobozhansky direction in the areas of Vovchansk, Zapadne, Dovhenke, towards Kolodyazne, Kutkivka, Odradne, Dvorichanske, and Lyptsi. Fighting continues in five locations.

In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy made six attempts to advance in the area of Kupyansk, Stepova Novoselivka, and towards Kurylivka. Three combat engagements are still ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, the Defence Forces repelled six assaults and are holding back four more assault actions in the areas of the settlements of Novomykhailivka, Shandryholove, Derylove, Karpivka, Torske, and towards Olhivka and Novyi Myr.

In the Slovyansk direction, the enemy attacked seven times in the areas of Yampol, Dronivka, and Hryhorivka.

Since the start of the day, the enemy has not conducted offensive actions in the Kramatorsk direction.

In the Kostyantynivka direction, 15 combat engagements occurred today. The enemy attempted to storm the positions of Ukrainian units near Rusynyi Yar, Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, Poltavka, and towards Kostyantynivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the enemy has attacked 37 times in the areas of the settlements of Zatyshok, Nikanorivka, Chervonyi Lyman, Lysivka, Razine, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Dachne, Muravka, and towards the settlements of Myrnohrad, Balahan, Pokrovsk, and Filiya. Our defenders are holding back the enemy’s pressure, with three combat engagements still ongoing.

Today, in this direction, according to preliminary data, 122 occupiers were neutralized, of which 87 were irrecoverable losses. Additionally, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed one cannon, two vehicles, two motorcycles, 20 unmanned aerial vehicles, four units of special equipment, and one enemy drone control point.

In the Oleksandrivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 24 attacks by the invaders in the areas of the settlements of Andriivka-Klevtsove, Piddubne, Sosnivka, Filiya, Sichneve, Komyshuvakha, Vorone, Oleksiivka, Novomykolaivka, Novohryhorivka, Poltavka, and Malynivka. Eight more combat engagements are ongoing.

In the Hulyaipole direction, the enemy carried out an airstrike on the settlement of Bilohirya.

In the Orikhiv direction, since the start of the day, seven combat engagements have taken place – the occupiers attempted to advance in the area of Stepove and towards Novoandriivka.

The settlements of Stepnohirsk and Lukyanivske were subjected to airstrikes with unguided missiles.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the Defence Forces stopped an enemy attempt to advance towards the Antonivskyi Bridge. Additionally, the occupiers carried out an airstrike on Prydniprovskyi.

In other directions, there have been no significant changes in the situation.

Today, it is worth noting the soldiers of the 40th Separate Coastal Defence Brigade, who are effectively destroying the enemy, inflicting significant losses on them in manpower and equipment.
