Ministry of Energy: The situation in the energy system is under control, emergency shutdowns are not being applied for now

The situation in Ukraine’s energy system is complicated due to constant enemy shelling, but it remains under control, and emergency shutdowns are not being applied in any region for now.

This was reported by the Minister of Energy, Svitlana Hrynchuk.

Hrynchuk clarified that only at the Chernihiv energy hub are hourly shutdown schedules being applied, limited to one queue.

The Minister emphasized that energy workers are carrying out restoration work around the clock, while the enemy deliberately targets, among others, repair crews. For instance, due to Russian attacks on October 11, two workers of "Chernihivoblenergo" were killed, and on October 12, two energy workers were injured at a substation in the Boryspil district.

"This is the price Ukraine is currently paying for electricity… Unfortunately, such incidents are becoming more frequent. Russians do not hesitate to attack repair crews and energy workers who are trying their best to restore power to consumers and provide Ukrainians with access to electricity," Hrynchuk added.

Hrynchuk noted that responsible electricity consumption, especially during morning and evening peak hours, helps keep the situation in the energy system under control. Additionally, when necessary, Ukraine utilizes the opportunity to import electricity from neighboring European countries to balance the energy system.
