Explosion in Khmelnytskyi: various versions of the incident are being considered, a woman is being searched for under the rubble

Currently, various versions of the causes of the explosion in a high-rise building in Khmelnytskyi, which occurred on the afternoon of October 28, are being considered.

This was stated by the head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional State Administration, Serhiy Tyurin, during a telethon broadcast.

"A search is underway for a woman born in 1973. According to preliminary information, she may be under the rubble. There is currently no contact with her, and according to certain testimonies, she might be under the debris," Tyurin said.

According to him, various versions regarding the explosion in the residential building are being considered, including the detonation of explosives.

"Preliminary information from the State Emergency Service was that it could have been an explosion caused by gas, but currently, various versions are being considered, including the possibility of an explosion of a certain explosive device. Therefore, until the final clearing of the rubble is completed and this information is confirmed by the relevant services and experts, we do not designate any version as the primary one," the head of the Regional State Administration noted.

He added that, preliminarily, 32 residents of the building will need to be relocated.
