Explosion in a high-rise building in Khmelnytskyi: bodies of two deceased found under the rubble
Yesterday afternoon, on October 28, an explosion occurred in a multi-story building in one of the districts of Khmelnytskyi. At night, rescuers found the bodies of two people under the rubble.
This was reported on Telegram by the head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional State Administration, Serhiy Tyurin.
"At night, information was received about the possible presence of another person in the building. Unfortunately, we have tragic confirmation," the statement reads.
According to Tyurin, as a result of the explosion in the building on Ternopilska Street, the bodies of two deceased individuals were found under the rubble:
- at 02:24, the body of a female citizen born in 1973 was discovered;
- at 05:12, the body of a male citizen born in 1983 was discovered.
Currently, the bodies have been sent for forensic examination to determine the causes of death. Additionally, the causes of the explosion are being investigated.
The head of the Regional State Administration informed that additional forces have joined the rubble clearance efforts. In particular, a unit of high-altitude rescuers from the GMRC and a special-purpose unit "DELTA."
"Emergency rescue operations continue without interruption... All services are working cohesively, providing assistance and clearing the rubble," Tyurin summarized.
