Explosion at "Ukrposhta" in Kyiv: A resident of Ternopil who sent a package with souvenir ammunition has been detained
Law enforcement officers detained a man involved in the explosion at "Ukrposhta" in the Solomianskyi district.
During the inspection of the scene, the investigative team, explosives experts, and police dog handlers discovered remnants of a projectile. Operatives identified the sender of the package as a 40-year-old resident of Ternopil. Law enforcement officers, together with customs officials, found another dangerous package with decommissioned ammunition at the sorting center.
Kyiv police, in cooperation with Ternopil police, detained the 40-year-old man at his place of residence in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. During a search of his apartment, about a dozen more ammunition items were seized.
According to preliminary data, the man was making souvenirs from ammunition, engraving them, and sending them via postal services.
