EU and UK leaders informed Trump about Ukraine: the next few days will be dedicated to intensive work on a peace plan
The leaders of Germany, France, and the UK informed US President Donald Trump about the situation in Ukraine. They stated that "intensive work" on a peace plan will continue in the coming days.
This was reported by Sky News.
This followed a meeting between UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and French President Emmanuel Macron with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"The leaders discussed the latest developments regarding US-led peace talks, welcoming their efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace for Ukraine and to end the killings," a Downing Street spokesperson said.
He emphasized that "intensive work on a peace plan" will continue over the coming days.
"They agreed that this is a critical moment—for Ukraine, its people, and for shared security in the Euro-Atlantic region," he noted.
Similar statements regarding the conversation were published in France and Germany. Macron, during a public discussion, said the conversation lasted about 40 minutes.
