From 3,900 to 8,647 hryvnias: In Ukraine, unemployment benefits and the rules for their calculation have changed

From January 1, unemployment benefits in Ukraine will change.

Starting from 2026, the minimum amount of unemployment benefits will be 3,900 hryvnias. For comparison: in 2025, this figure was at the level of 3,600 UAH.

The Fund’s Board has also established a list of categories of citizens for whom the amount of financial assistance in case of unemployment in 2026 will be 1,650 hryvnias, whereas previously this amount was 1,500 UAH.

The changes also affected the upper limit of payments. The maximum amount of unemployment benefits in 2026 will reach 8,647 hryvnias, whereas previously it did not exceed 8,000 UAH.
