Death did not save the property: HACC confiscates assets of a deceased former official for the first time
Illegally acquired property of a deceased corrupt official is being confiscated.
The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has seized property worth over 20 million UAH belonging to the family of the deceased former head of the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Carpathian District, Mykola Ladovskyi, in favor of the state.
Based on materials gathered by the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) in cooperation with the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), the court agreed with the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) and, on January 12, 2026, issued a corresponding decision regarding the unjustified assets of the former official and his family. This includes three apartments and a non-residential premises in the central districts of Ivano-Frankivsk, as well as luxury vehicles Volkswagen Touareg (2021) and Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG (2023). The total value of the property exceeds 20 million UAH.
On the night of March 20, 2025, Mykola Ladovskyi passed away, after which the case was closed. Despite this, the SBI initiated the confiscation of the former official’s property in favor of the state.
