Attack on the "Kapustin Yar" training ground: UAVs struck the "Oreshnik" missile testing base
In Russia, an attack by Ukrainian drones on the 4th State Central Interspecies Testing Ground "Kapustin Yar" in the Astrakhan region was reported.
According to data from the Russian monitoring Telegram channel "Radar VRV," air defence systems were active in this area.
The testing ground is used for launching medium-range ballistic missiles (MRBM) from the "Oreshnik" complex. It was with this missile that Russia struck the outskirts of Lviv on January 8.
The site also tests a large number of various short- and medium-range missiles, cruise missiles, as well as air defence complexes and systems.
A previous drone attack on "Kapustin Yar" occurred in July 2024 — at that time, the drones hit buildings on the territory of the testing ground.
