Due to "social poverty": in Irpin, a family of internally displaced persons who lost their home had four children taken away

In Irpin, Kyiv region, four children were taken from a family of internally displaced persons who lost their home in 2022 due to "social poverty."

This was reported by Valeriya Tatarchuk, the founder and head of the charitable foundation "Your Support."

According to her information, the family is being assisted by volunteers, activists, and concerned citizens: electricity has already been restored in the house, windows have been replaced, garbage has been removed, and partial repair work has been carried out. However, the service under the city council still took the children to a boarding school.

Shortly after, Irpin Mayor Markushyn expressed disagreement with the service’s actions and stated that the family is being helped with housing restoration and the return of the children.

He noted that both parents in the family have jobs, but at the time of the inspections, the house lacked heating, electricity, and minimal living conditions, which became the reason for the children’s removal.
