Over 7 million UAH in damages due to substandard boiler room in a children’s hospital in Kharkiv: company director under suspicion.
This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
In Kharkiv, a scheme to misappropriate budget funds during the reconstruction of the heating system in a children’s hospital has been uncovered.
In October 2024, the medical facility signed a contract with a limited liability company for the installation of a modular boiler room costing nearly 15 million UAH. The project was funded by state subsidies and UNICEF funds. Instead of the equipment specified in the project, the company director purchased significantly cheaper boilers that did not meet technical requirements. To conceal the substitution, the specific models and characteristics were not indicated in the documentation.
After commissioning, the boiler room was found to be unfit for full operation. The damages to the Kharkiv community amount to over 7 million UAH.
Under the procedural guidance of the Saltivka District Prosecutor’s Office, the company director has been notified of suspicion under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Reminder: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent until their guilt is proven in court.
