In 2024, the Ministry of Justice announced the creation of a new center for independent forensic expertise. It was supposed to «reboot» the forensic expertise system, which is notorious for its corruption scandals.

The center was headed by a former SSU employee and lawyer, Andriy Svintsytskyi. But was this really the right person for the position?

Because as soon as Svintsytskyi entered the field of expertise (first at the SSU, and later under the Ministry of Justice), his family began rapidly accumulating expensive assets: apartments in Kyiv, cars, apartments in Turkey, and a cottage in Uzhhorod.

The most expensive property is registered under the names of his wife, mother-in-law, parents, niece – anyone but Svintsytskyi himself. And the most interesting part is that all these acquisitions do not quite match the official income of his relatives.
