"The world is tired of clowns": Iran’s Foreign Minister sharply responds to Zelenskyy’s criticism in Davos
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi called Zelenskyy a «clown» following the Ukrainian president’s speech at the Davos forum.
During his speech yesterday at the economic forum, Zelenskyy criticized Iran.
«So much was said about the protests in Iran, but they were drenched in blood. The international community did not provide enough support to the Iranian people. In Europe, they were celebrating Christmas and New Year. It’s the season of holidays. By the time politicians returned to their duties and started forming a position, the Ayatollah had already destroyed thousands of lives. What will Iran be like after this bloodshed? If the regime holds on, it will be a clear signal to every tyrant: kill enough people, and you will retain power», Zelenskyy said.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry reacted to these statements.
«Zelenskyy is begging for money from American and European taxpayers to fill the pockets of his corrupt generals and to counter what he calls illegal aggression that violates the UN Charter. At the same time, he openly and shamelessly calls for illegal US aggression against Iran, violating the very same UN Charter. The world is tired of these confused clowns, Mr. Zelenskyy. Unlike your army, which is supported from abroad and full of mercenaries, we Iranians are capable of defending ourselves and do not need to beg for help from foreigners», said Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi.
