SAPO requests a bail of 22 million hryvnias for the former head of the SBGSU, Deyneko, in the cigarette smuggling case through the "Tysa" border crossing

22 million hryvnias bail for former head of State Border Guard Service Deyneko to be requested by SAP: case of cigarette smuggling via «Tysa»

On Monday, the court will decide on a preventive measure for the former head of the State Border Guard Service, Serhiy Deyneko, in a high-profile case involving cigarette smuggling through diplomatic minivans at the «Tysa» checkpoint in Zakarpattia.

 According to my sources, the prosecution will request the court to set bail at 22,000,000 hryvnias.

 The investigation believes this involves a scheme of illegal movement of tobacco products across the border using diplomatic transport, which allowed bypassing full border control.

Additionally, according to available information, Serhiy Deyneko has been added to a watchlist, and his data has been disseminated to all border checkpoints to prevent any attempt to leave Ukraine.

Whether he is currently in Ukraine and whether he attempted to leave is still being clarified.

As far as is known, a suspicion notice was also served to the former head of the «Solomonovo» border guard unit, Oleksandr Marushchak. A preventive measure for him will also be determined by the High Anti-Corruption Court on Monday.

According to my informed sources, other figurants in the case have reached an agreement with NABU and will provide incriminating testimony against the former heads.
