Income of 200 thousand, a car worth 4 million, and luxurious mansions: Deputy of Berehove District Council Bohar has been notified of suspicion

Deputy of the Berehove District Council Arseniy Bohar has been notified of suspicion for submitting a knowingly false declaration and laundering income obtained through criminal means — Zakarpattia Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the investigation, while submitting the annual declaration for 2022, the elected official deliberately failed to declare property and income totaling over 8.3 million UAH.

He concealed a Ford Mustang car, which was in joint ownership with his spouse, a multimillion income, as well as financial transactions related to the purchase and sale of an elite Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

He purchased the elite car in October 2022 for 3.75 million UAH, although his confirmed income from over 20 years of entrepreneurial activity amounted to less than 227 thousand UAH.

Just a few days later, the car was resold, and the proceeds were used for personal needs.
These transactions, as well as the income itself, were not reflected in the declaration.

The actions of the suspect have been classified as intentional submission of knowingly false information in the declaration by the declarant, as well as legalization (money laundering) of property obtained through criminal means.
