Night attack by Russia: Air defence forces shot down 87 Russian drones over Ukraine
On the night of January 25, Russia launched another air attack on Ukraine: the enemy used 104 means of air assault, including two ballistic missiles and 102 drones of various types. Air defence forces destroyed 87 drones.
Hits were recorded on several objects. Details were published by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
A new wave of nighttime air strikes on Ukraine began around 18:30 on January 24.
In the evening, at night, and in the morning, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian cities and villages with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles/anti-aircraft guided missiles S-300, launched from the Bryansk region of Russia.
In addition, the enemy used 102 strike drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types for attacks, coming from the directions of Kursk, Orel, Bryansk, Shatalovo (Russia), as well as from the temporarily occupied Donetsk.
About 70 of the launched drones are "Shaheds."
The air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defence Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary information, as of 08:30, air defense shot down/suppressed 87 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types in the north, south, center, and east of Ukraine.
Hits by 15 strike UAVs were recorded on 10 objects, as well as the fall of debris from downed drones on one object. Data regarding 2 enemy missiles is being clarified.
"The attack continues, several enemy UAVs are still in the airspace. Follow safety rules!" – warned the Air Forces.
