DTEK has powered critical infrastructure in Kyiv: despite emergency shutdowns, electricity supply to Troyeshchyna has been restored

DTEK energy workers have restored electricity to approximately 88,000 households in Kyiv’s Desnyanskyi district. Specialists connected critical infrastructure facilities following a massive nighttime attack by the Russian Federation.

This was reported by the company in its press release.

DTEK emphasized that the work was carried out continuously, with specialists addressing the consequences of the strikes immediately after the security situation stabilized. At the same time, Kyiv’s energy system remains in a challenging state — emergency blackouts continue to be implemented in the city. Over the past month alone, Russian forces have attacked the capital’s energy facilities four times.

The restoration of electricity became an emotional moment for the district’s residents. A video appeared online showing Kyivans, along with their children, celebrating the unexpected return of light: people gathered in the courtyard of a residential complex, shouting with joy, children skating on an ice rink, neighbors listening to music and warming up with hot tea.

DTEK expressed gratitude to the residents of the capital for their patience and understanding, and assured that efforts to restore and stabilize the energy supply are ongoing.
