The TRC firmly denied the statement of a military assault soldier claiming that drug addicts, elderly people, and individuals with autism were sent to the ranks of the Armed Forces in the Zaporizhzhya region: full text of the statement.
"Recently, a video appeared online featuring a serviceman from one of the brigades fighting on the Zaporizhzhya front, where he emotionally commented on the ’reinforcements’ in their unit, referring to the newcomers as ’drug addicts’ and ’autistic individuals.’
We emphasize that this statement does not correspond to reality. There is no medical evidence of such ’diagnoses’ among the recruits. We understand the difficult moral state of our defenders, who have been fighting on the front lines for a long time without rest.
Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centers carry out mobilization measures in accordance with the norms of legislation. Men aged 25 to 60, who are deemed fit for service based on their health condition and do not have the right to a deferment, are subject to mobilization.
We once again urge the public: do not give in to emotions. Let us not forget – who our true enemy is!"
