"Broke the monomajority": SAPO reveals details of Yuliya Tymoshenko’s case on systemic bribery of deputies
The head of the "Batkivshchyna" faction, Yuliya Tymoshenko, came under the scrutiny of anti-corruption officials in November 2025, when information emerged about attempts to bribe MPs, to make them leave "Servant of the People" or vote against the majority.
This was stated by the head of the SAPO, Oleksandr Klymenko.
A criminal case against her was opened on November 24, on her birthday, but the speaker calls it a coincidence.
Klymenko believes that the investigation of Tymoshenko’s case will take less than five months, as the case is straightforward. SAPO has sent many similar episodes to court.
"Both detectives and prosecutors have experience in such cases, and there will be no delays on our part. Everything will depend on how quickly we can conduct the expert examinations we have planned, — explains Klymenko. — We always emphasize that for a specific category of cases under NABU’s jurisdiction, an independent expert institution needs to be created. We have recorded a large number of instances where third parties interfered in the process of conducting examinations. There have been cases of delays, sabotage, leaks of information, and pressure on experts".
He noted that a similar case — regarding MP Andriy Odarchenko — was considered in the first instance for a year, passed the second instance in three months, after which a decision was made by the Appellate Chamber of the HACC.
"Everything depends on the behavior of the defense and how often the court schedules hearings. If everything proceeds without delays, the consideration can happen much faster, because, I repeat, this is not a complex category of cases", — he added.
