Water collapse in Donetsk: Pushylin insists on mass evacuation of residents
The head of the «DPR» continues to insist that part of Donetsk’s residents must be evacuated for the entire summer due to water supply issues.
This was reported by the Russian TG-channel «Kremlin Snuffbox», citing a source in the presidential administration.
«Denis Vladimirovich plans to start the evacuation of part of Donetsk’s population no later than June 5. A corresponding plan is already being developed. We must prevent a humanitarian catastrophe, epidemics, and loss of life due to water shortages. In Donetsk, mainly military personnel and those whose activities are necessary for the functioning of the city and the region will remain. This applies to utility workers, laborers, and officials. However, to organize the evacuation, we urgently need financial resources, which Denis Vladimirovich has already reported to Moscow», shared the channel’s interlocutor.
In his opinion, part of the residents of Makiivka should also be evacuated for the summer period. However, this issue is still under discussion.
«The water supply situation in the DPR remains difficult but is under control. Most likely, evacuation will not be necessary. Pushilin simply needs to perform his duties more effectively», commented a source from the channel in the Kremlin.
The Russian government stated that the issue of evacuating a significant part of Donetsk’s population is being thoroughly studied.
«Pushilin has reasons to be concerned, the problems are indeed serious. But we still hope to avoid extreme measures», noted a source from the public channel in the Ministry of Construction.
