Digital empire for $160 million: "Kyivstar" officially absorbed the medical marketplace Tabletki.ua

The largest Ukrainian mobile operator continues its aggressive expansion in the digital services market. The press service of «Kyivstar Group» officially confirmed the signing of the final agreement and the completion of the deal to acquire 100% of the shares of the online platform Tabletki.ua.

The deal is valued at 160 million USD, with an emphasis that the entire payment will be made in hryvnia directly within Ukraine. This acquisition has become one of the largest in the Ukrainian IT market in recent years, reinforcing «Kyivstar»’s status as a multifaceted digital holding.

Tabletki.ua is currently the undisputed leader among medical goods marketplaces in the country. The platform allows users not only to find scarce medications but also to compare prices across more than 14,000 pharmacies throughout Ukraine.

The transaction volumes are impressive: the service processes an average of about 14 million online orders per month. Over the past 12 months, the gross merchandise value processed through the system reached 57.3 billion hryvnia. The company’s financial performance also demonstrates high efficiency — annual net profit amounted to 20 million USD, with an EBITDA of 24 million USD.

For «Kyivstar», this acquisition is a logical step in the strategy to develop an ecosystem of digital products. The company intends to combine its vast experience in telecommunications with the technological advancements of Tabletki.ua to significantly expand the digital healthcare sector.

The new asset organically complements the operator’s existing portfolio, which includes the medical platform Helsi, the ride-hailing service Uklon, the streaming service Kyivstar TV, and the mobile app MyKyivstar. Essentially, the operator is creating a unified digital environment that addresses the basic needs of Ukrainians — from communication and transportation to healthcare.

Within «Kyivstar» itself, it is noted that the acquisition will enable the company to combine its expertise in developing digital services with the capabilities of Tabletki.ua, significantly simplifying citizens’ access to medical services and goods. The service will continue to operate as usual but will receive substantial financial and technological support for further scaling. Market analysts are already calling this deal a strong signal to investors: even amid war, large corporations are ready to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in Ukrainian tech startups with a clear business model.
