A bribe of 68 thousand dollars for "having many children": NABU detained an SSU employee for selling deferments from mobilization
Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, under the procedural guidance of a prosecutor from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, on February 23 exposed an employee of one of the inter-district departments of the Main Directorate of the SSU in Kyiv and Kyiv region for receiving undue benefits, reports SAPO.
The official received 68,000 USD for assisting in removing two citizens from the wanted list at the TRC and arranging a deferment from military service for them.
According to the investigation, an employee of one of the inter-district departments of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and Kyiv region received an undue benefit in the amount of 68,000 USD. These funds were provided for a series of illegal actions: removing two individuals from the wanted list at the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center, arranging a deferment from mobilization for them, and using their official position to conceal this illegal activity.
The scheme involved arranging a deferment by submitting knowingly false documents about having three children. According to the investigation, fictitious birth certificates were supposed to be issued abroad. Thus, the perpetrators planned to exploit the legal mechanism of deferment for parents of three or more children by forging the grounds for its provision. NABU detectives detained the official directly during the receipt of the money.
