In Cherkasy, a Kyiv lawyer was notified of suspicion for organizing illegal border crossing

Prosecutors of the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor’s Office have notified a lawyer from Kyiv of suspicion in organizing the illegal transfer of a person across the state border, according to the Office of the Prosecutor General.

"According to the investigation, he offered a 30-year-old man assistance in leaving Ukraine for $10,000 through a fictitious marriage with a woman with a Group II disability," the agency’s message on the Telegram channel stated on Monday.

According to the prosecutor’s office, this would have allowed the man to cross the border without hindrance.

"During the receipt of the first part of the amount, $5,000, the lawyer was detained," - reports the Office of the Prosecutor General.
