"This is our Homeland": Zelenskyy rejects the idea of exchanging territories with Russia
Zelenskyy opposed the exchange of territories with Russia.
«We stopped at a 20-point plan and the issue of control over territories. The Americans propose an exchange of territories, while the Russians insist on our withdrawal. The exchange does not align with our interests, and Moscow will need a significant amount of resources to maintain the territories we might leave: they understand that we aim to reclaim what was taken from us. Why should we even exchange our land for something else if it is part of our homeland?» - stated the President of Ukraine in a conversation with Corriere della Sera.
Zelenskyy noted that the American side also proposed the creation of demilitarized zones and free economic zones on both sides of the front line.
«I emphasized that this should apply to both sides, but the Russians stated that it should only be on our territory. This is simply absurd,» - said the President.
