Drones in exchange for Patriot: Zelenskyy proposed a scheme to Persian Gulf countries to overcome the missile shortage

In Ukraine, there is currently a shortage of PAC-3 — interceptor missiles capable of destroying ballistic and cruise missiles. Therefore, a possible exchange with Middle Eastern countries, which are suffering from Iranian kamikaze drones, is being considered.

This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a briefing on Tuesday.

According to Zelenskyy, countries in the Persian Gulf have missiles for Patriot systems, but using them against drones is not practical. Ukraine could provide interceptors for drones in exchange for the necessary missiles.

«We have a shortage of PAC-3, yes. For example, when it comes to weapons during the war that we lack, like PAC-3 missiles, if they transfer them to us, we will provide them with interceptors. This is a fair exchange,» — Zelenskyy noted, responding to a question about potential cooperation with Middle Eastern countries.
