On the night of March 7, Russian forces launched a large-scale combined attack on Ukraine, firing 19 missiles and nearly half a thousand drones. The enemy targeted energy infrastructure and railways, with damages recorded in several regions – in particular, at least seven people were killed in Kharkiv.

This was reported in the morning by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He appealed to the international community, urging a response to yet another brutal attack on Ukraine.

Zelenskyy released photographs from the site of the Russian strike on a residential five-story building in Kharkiv: the occupiers completely destroyed one entrance with a ballistic missile.

"Since the night, the clearing of debris from a residential building in Kharkiv has been ongoing after a Russian ballistic missile strike. An entrance was destroyed, and the upper floors of a neighboring building were damaged. Unfortunately, at this moment, we know of the deaths of seven people. More than ten individuals were injured, including children. People may still be under the rubble. All necessary services are working on-site to rescue them," the president noted.

Overall, according to information from the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the aggressor country launched 19 missiles at Ukrainian cities and villages that night, of which, as the president clarified, nearly half were ballistic. Additionally, 453 Russian drones, mostly of the "Shahed" type, were directed at Ukraine.

"The enemy targeted energy facilities in Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, and Chernivtsi regions, as well as railway infrastructure in Zhytomyr region. Damages were recorded in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Vinnytsia, Odesa, Poltava, Sumy, and Cherkasy regions. Relevant services are working in all affected areas," Zelenskyy emphasized.

The president urged the international community not to stand aside and to respond to the ongoing Russian terror against Ukraine.

"There must be a response from our partners to these brutal attacks on life. I thank everyone who does not remain silent. Russia does not stop its attempts to destroy Ukraine’s residential and critical infrastructure, so support must continue. The PURL program should operate just as actively. We hope for close cooperation with the EU to ensure greater protection for our citizens. I am grateful to everyone who contributes to strengthening our defence," Zelenskyy concluded.
