Svyrydenko: The government will allocate more than 11 billion hryvnias for the protection of critical infrastructure
In Ukraine, 210 critical infrastructure facilities have been identified in ten regions, where work to strengthen protection will begin in the coming days. The Cabinet of Ministers plans to allocate more than 11 billion hryvnias for these needs.
This is stated in the Telegram of Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko.
Following the meeting of the Coordination Center in Chernihiv, priority funding needs were identified for nine regions and the Kyiv region. This concerns the protection of energy and other strategic facilities, particularly in the frontline Chernihiv and Sumy regions.
"For these tasks, we are preparing the allocation of 11.2 billion UAH from the state budget’s reserve fund at the next Government meeting. This will allow us to launch the construction processes of new protection as soon as possible," – Svyrydenko reported.
Business support and energy independence
In addition to the construction of protective structures, the government is developing measures to support the private sector. In particular, a program of affordable lending is being prepared to ensure energy independence.
For businesses, a fixed rate of 7% per annum will be introduced for the entire term of the agreement. This will enable enterprises to independently provide themselves with alternative power sources and operate stably during outages.
Work in regions and the capital
At the meeting, special attention was paid to frontline regions, where the threat of infrastructure shelling is the highest. They also discussed the implementation of Kyiv’s resilience plan, previously submitted by the city authorities.
Parallelly, the government is coordinating efforts with international partners to attract additional funds for the restoration and strengthening of Ukraine’s energy system.
