In Zkarpattia, a district council deputy is suspected of organizing illegal departure abroad

In Zakarpattia region, a deputy of the Tyachiv District Council has been exposed for organizing the illegal departure of men liable for military service abroad.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

According to the investigation, the official, using his own connections, set up a scheme for the illegal departure of men liable for military service. He personally instructed clients on routes, border crossing methods, and actions to avoid checks. 

Other persons were also involved in implementing the scheme, coordinating the smuggling to Romania.

The cost of services was 8 thousand US dollars per person. After receiving the funds, the deputy was detained.

In fact, this involves creating an illegal channel for the departure of men liable for military service during martial law, which undermines mobilization processes and contradicts the interests of the state.

Prosecutors notified the deputy of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
