Drones plus infantry: Ministry of Defence implements unified system for managing unmanned and assault groups

The introduction of drone-assault units that combine unmanned systems with infantry has made it significantly more effective to liberate territories in southern Ukraine.

This is reported by Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

As noted by the department, Ukraine is actively implementing an innovative system where aerial and ground drones are integrated with infantry units into a single mechanism.

Such a model allows minimizing personnel losses and increasing the accuracy of strikes.

According to representatives of the defence department, this approach fundamentally changes the tactics of assault operations on the front line.

The use of new units has already demonstrated concrete successes on the battlefield. In particular, in southern Ukraine, thanks to this system since February 2026, it has been possible to liberate significant volumes of territory.
