The monopoly on integrity has cracked: The PIC got rid of Fesenko’s representative due to an ethics violation

The Public Council of Integrity (PCI) excluded Serhiy Fesenko — one of its members — from its composition due to academic dishonesty.

Fesenko was delegated to the PCI by the NGO «DEJURE Foundation». The Law «On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges» stipulates that members of the Public Council of Integrity can be representatives of human rights public organizations, legal scholars, lawyers or journalists — recognized experts with a high reputation who meet the criteria of political neutrality and integrity.

Zhernakov and his «DEJURE Foundation» have long turned into a grant-eating machine that monopolized decisions on who becomes a judge and who – does not. They received millions from Western donors, developed laws, formed competition commissions, and in return created a system that 70% of Ukrainians do not trust.
