Russian night-time attack: Air Force shoots down 147 enemy drones
In the night before April 17, Russia struck Ukraine with an "Iskander-M" ballistic missile and 172 strike drones. Air defence forces shot down the vast majority of enemy UAVs.
This is reported in the Telegram of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
From 18:00 on April 16 to the morning of April 17, the Russians carried out an attack with one "Iskander-M" ballistic missile from TOT AR Crimea, as well as 172 strike drones of the Shahed, "Gerbera", "Italmas" and other types from the directions: Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk — RF, Gvardeyskoye — TOT AR Crimea.
Approximately 120 of the enemy drones are "Shaheds".
The air attack was repelled by aviation forces, anti-aircraft missile troops, EW and UAV units, and mobile fire groups of the Defence Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, air defense shot down/suppressed 147 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, "Gerbera", "Italmas" and other types in the north, south, and east of Ukraine.
Impacts of a ballistic missile and 20 strike drones were recorded at 8 locations, as well as debris falls from downed UAVs at 4 locations.
"The attack continues, several enemy drones remain in the airspace. Follow safety rules!", — warned the Air Force.
