«No appeals were made»: Andriy Pyshnyi denied lobbying the interests of Fire Point company by Umerov and Mindich
Head of the National Bank of Ukraine Andriy Pyshnyi assured that businessman Tymur Mindich and Rustem Umerov, former head of the Ministry of Defence, did not approach him with a request to assist the financial interests of Fire Point company.
About this, NBU Governor Andriy Pyshnyi stated during a briefing.
According to Pyshnyi, there were no discussions with representatives of Fire Point or other defence companies regarding assistance in financing defence projects.
"No, there were no appeals, no communications, no interactions with those who mentioned my last name: neither regarding the topic that was mentioned, nor in any other context," – he replied to a question from an EP journalist.
Media published the beginning of recordings captured by NABU as part of the "Midas" investigation, in the apartment of the current sanctioned businessman Tymur Mindich, who is suspected of corrupt actions in the energy sector.
These are conversations with the former first assistant to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Serhiy Shefir, Nataliya, who likely oversees the construction of estates in the "Dynasty" cooperative, and the current NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov.
In the dialogue between Mindich and Umerov, they discussed allocating budget funds for the purchase of Fire Point products.
Mindich asked if he had contacted NBU Governor Pyshnyi, to which Umerov replied that he is abroad.
Mindich suggested "calling the state-owned ’SenseBank’, because the decision can be made by a Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution".
