Zelenskyy announced a large-scale reform of the AFU: Demobilization and significant salary increases already this year

Zelenskyy has given instructions to introduce the possibility of demobilization of servicemen already this year and to significantly increase their monetary support.

He describes three key directions of the army reform, the start of which is planned for June:

• minimum provision for rear military personnel will be 30 thousand hryvnias (currently about 21 thousand), on forward positions – «several times more», and for commanders, combat sergeants, and officers – «a decent level with a noticeable increase» (currently officers receive approximately 25-30 thousand hryvnias).

• payments to infantrymen on the front line – 250-400 thousand hryvnias depending on task fulfillment. For comparison, currently for a full month on the front, combat surcharges reach a maximum of 100 thousand hryvnias.
