Instead of housing - embezzlement: in Kyiv, a businessman appropriated 2 million hryvnias of charitable funds for houses for Irpin

In Kyiv, an entrepreneur is suspected of embezzling 2 million UAH of charitable funds allocated for the construction of five modular houses for Irpin.

According to the prosecutor’s office, in March 2023, he signed a contract with a charitable foundation, received over 2 million UAH, half of which he transferred to his own account and withdrew in cash. Only two houses have been built, and they are unsuitable for living.

The charitable foundation approached the prosecutor’s office when it was revealed that the same entrepreneur had previously received 4 million UAH for similar houses in Moshchun and also failed to fulfill his obligations.
