A British man was sentenced in Odesa for passing data on AFU positions to Russia

The Kyiv District Court of the City of Odesa approved a plea agreement regarding a citizen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland who illegally disseminated data on the locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This is reported by «Court reporter» with reference to the sentence dated April 30.

According to the case materials, in January 2024, the foreigner met on an internet forum for «combat instructors» a citizen of the USA who was looking for military instructors to work in Ukraine. The Briton agreed to this proposal and arrived in Ukraine to conduct training for servicemen of a Marine Corps brigade. 

Approximately from the end of September 2024, the man stopped working as a military instructor and moved to the city of Odesa. And subsequently, without income, agreed for material reward to transmit information to representatives of the RF.

The accused took advantage of the fact that until the beginning of 2024 he was included in a closed group of military instructors in the Signal messenger.

In May 2025, the Briton forwarded to an unidentified FSB RF employee the communication identifiers, photos, and personal data of each participant in the chat of military instructors who conduct training for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and also disseminated the location of the training center for Armed Forces of Ukraine servicemen in the Mykolaiv region with geographic coordinates and map screenshots.

In addition, the foreigner illegally acquired and stored at his place of residence a pistol and 16 rounds.

Upon being detained, the man entered into a plea agreement with the prosecutor and pledged to cooperate in exposing the criminal actions of other crime participants known to him.

The court imposed on the accused an agreed punishment in the form of 8 years of imprisonment.
