First time on the axis: heavy UAV "Baba Yaga" forced the occupiers to abandon prisoners and flee
The crew of a heavy strike UAV freed two Ukrainian infantrymen from Russian captivity, reported the 21st Separate Mechanized Brigade.
Such an incident occurred in April on the North-Slobozhansk direction. During the enemy’s attack on the positions of a neighboring unit, two Ukrainian fighters were captured.
After that, the command turned for help to the crew of the heavy drone "Vampir" from the 21st Brigade, which was nearby at the time. The defenders immediately prepared the UAV and set off to intercept.
At that time, the occupiers were already leading the captives toward their positions, but the situation changed with the sound of a heavy Ukrainian drone.
"Hearing the ’Vampir,’ the occupiers got confused, panicked, abandoned the captives, and tried to flee," - added the brigade. But they failed to do so.
The brigade emphasized that this is the first recorded case on the North-Slobozhansky direction, when Ukrainian defenders were able to be freed from captivity with the help of a UAV.
The military added that the operation was carried out by the "Vampir" crew under the command of a 23-year-old fighter with the callsign Rubin. The brigade also thanked the entire crew team, namely Rubin, Balti, Balu, and "Uncle Kolya."
"Another hero of this story was the Ukrainian-made unmanned aerial vehicle ’Vampir’ (also known as ’Baba Yaga’) - a combat machine capable of sowing panic among occupiers with its mere appearance," - noted in the message.
