Fire Point’s chief designer Denis Shtilerman said that the German government is interested in a Ukrainian-made missile. They are considering them as an alternative to American Tomahawks.
The Financial Times reports on the plans of the German leadership.
Co-founder and chief designer of the defense company Fire Point, Denys Shtilerman, spoke about Germany’s interest in Ukrainian weapons. The government of this country is considering an option where it will have to find an alternative to American long-range Tomahawk missiles.
Ukrainian "Flamingos" are a very attractive option for Berlin. The German side is interested not only in missiles but also in drones, which it is already purchasing for the Bundeswehr.
On Monday, May 11, German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius visited Kyiv. He called Ukraine’s technological achievements extraordinary. The politician also said that Kyiv and Berlin are considering the possibility of creating joint ventures in the field of long-range UAVs, air defence, and EW (electronic warfare) systems.
According to media reports, in April 2026, Fire Point and the German rocket manufacturer Diehl Defence signed a technological cooperation agreement. Shtilerman refused to confirm this agreement but noted that they are working with German partners on developing an anti-missile shield in Europe.
The idea of our developed weapon is that we sell not only weapons, and not only security, but also independence in security,
– Shtilerman stated.
