In Truskavets, the body of a man with a gunshot wound was found on the balcony of the ninth floor of the Mirotel hotel

In the Mirotel Resort and Spa recreational complex in Truskavets, the body of a man with a gunshot wound was found on the balcony of one of the rooms. The court seized the weapon, ammunition, and personal belongings of the deceased, which are now being examined by experts. This is stated in the ruling of the Truskavets City Court, which was published on the OpenDataBot portal in May.

A Browning pistol was found in the hotel room

According to the case materials, the report was received on the 102 line on the morning of May 14. The man’s body was found in room No. 909 on the ninth floor of the hotel at 1 Kobzarya Street. The investigation established that on the evening of May 13 and the morning of May 14, the man was on the balcony of his room. “He committed suicide by shooting himself in the head, as a result of which he died at the scene,” the ruling states.

It is known from the ruling that during the inspection of the room, law enforcement officers found a Browning pistol with a cartridge, a magazine with 11 rounds, a spent casing and a bullet, as well as a box with an additional 37 cartridges. In addition, investigators found sedative medications, a Samsung phone, a Baldinini bag, the deceased’s documents, Volkswagen car keys, 6 bank cards, and cash — 1,100 hryvnias, 97 dollars, and 320 zlotys.

Following this fact, the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional murder with legal qualification — suicide). LVIV.MEDIA tried to contact the hotel management — the administration promised to call back.

Who is the owner of “Mirotel Resort”

The hotel has been operating since 2012. According to the analytical portal YouControl, the owner is Olena Herashchenko. In 2014, Mirotel Resort and Spa became the holder of the title “Medical and Recreational Complex of the Year”.

The hotel includes rooms of various price categories — standards, suites, and apartments. The average cost of accommodation per day is 6 thousand hryvnias.
