HACC Appeals Chamber rules on ex-MP Kryuchkov: 10.5 years in prison for UAH 346 million scheme

The Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court has ruled in the case of the former head of PrJSC "HC "Energomerezha", People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the V convocation Dmytro Kryuchkov.

This is reported by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.

"The court ruled to change the HACC verdict of 11.06.2025, crediting the term of pre-trial detention: from 14 April to 17 May 2018 and from 15 to 22 April 2019 – at the rate of one day of pre-trial detention for two days of imprisonment," the report says.

According to the investigation, in 2014–2015 the head of PrJSC "HC "Energomerezha" organized a scheme under which electricity consumers, instead of paying the supplier — PJSC "Zaporizhzhyaoblenergo", transferred funds to a company controlled by him.

This concerns payments from such consumers as SE "ZTMK", LLC "ZTMK" and PJSC "Dniprospetsstal". The person’s actions caused the state losses in the amount of over UAH 346 million.

"The former head of PrJSC "HC "Energomerezha" D. Kryuchkov was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced to 10 years and 6 months of imprisonment with confiscation of all property owned by him," the report says.

The ruling of the AC HACC enters into legal force from the moment of its pronouncement and may be appealed in cassation directly to the Supreme Court within three months.

The Appellate Chamber of the HACC referred the civil claim of PJSC "Zaporizhzhyaoblenergo" for compensation of material damage for a new trial. In the rest, the verdict was left unchanged, the NABU also notes.
